American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants
Our Mission
To provide a forum for education and sharing of ideas to assist the LNC's in successful career advancement. Meetings are formatted with education being given the utmost importance. We also encourage networking among members and provide time during each meeting for members to talk and share ideas among themselves.
Membership in the Chapter
The Greater Chicago Chapter of AALNC's membership period is October to October. Annual dues are paid to the membership chairman by September 30 of each year. New members wishing to join during the year will have membership dues pro-rated. You must be a current member of the National organization as a requirement of membership. To apply for membership please click on the membership box. The Greater Chicago Chapter is partnered with and is under the leadership of our national organization, The American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC).
The Chicago Board of Directors invite you to explore the professional world of legal nurse consulting. Legal Nurse Consultant's (LNC) are registered nurses who blend their nursing experience into the legal arena. The LNC provides a cost-effective link between the medical and legal professions, and one that is considered a unique nursing specialty which differs from the paralegal or legal assistant.
The Greater Chicago Chapter membership includes LNC's from Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin. Our members are registered nurses who passionately assist attorneys for successful litigation and resolution of complex issues in health, illness and injury. Members work in a variety of settings, some as in-house LNC's, others as independent LNC's and cover both the plaintiff and defense venues. Services that can be provided to attorneys include: review and analysis of medical records, identification of standard of care deviations, chronologies, explanation of medical terminology, literature reviews and location of expert witnesses.
