The American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants is a non-profit nursing organization dedicated to the professional advancement of registered nurses practicing in a consulting capacity to legal professionals.

Chartered in 1992, the AALNC, Greater Chicago Chapter is a large and progressive chapter comprised of dedicated nurses with varied clinical backgrounds and expertise.

Distinct from a paralegal or legal assistant, the Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC) is a unique and valuable member of the litigation team.  LNC's bring specialized educational and clinical expertise to medically related issues in medical malpractice, product liability, personal injury, workers' compensation and toxic tort litigation.

The practice of Legal Nurse Consulting is performed in collaboration with attorneys and others involved in the legal process.  In addition to working as independent consultants, LNC's are employed in many of Chicago's lawfirms, in state and federal agencies and professional organizations.
